Jon Hansen is a Zürich based tubist, composer, and producer. He has recently performed/recorded with The Fabulous Party BoysAhamefule J. Oluo's Now I'm FineODESZASlipstitch, Heatwarmer, The Polyrhythmics, PickwickIndustrial RevelationThe Seattle SymphonyTubaluba, Katie Kuffel, All-Star Opera, and The Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra, and has been a featured soloist in North America, Europe, and Asia. In 2019, Jon received the Jim and Jamie Self Creative Tuba Award from the International Tuba and Euphonium Association for his pioneering work on the SPACETUBA, which he demonstrated while on the faculty Gravíssimo Festival in Alcobaça, Portugal, and the Electrobrass Conference in Tuscaloosa, Alabama (USA).

Jon's compositions have been performed/recorded in Europe, Asia, Australia, and North America by Sérgio CarolinoTAZMr SC and the Wildbones GangSteve RosseKo-Ichiro Yamamoto,Trompas LusasDanny HelsethSurrealistic DiscussionAaron Tindall, and ensembles at Cal State University Long Beach, Tennessee Tech University, Ithaca College, and the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague.

Jon studied tuba with Chris Olka (DMA, MM, University of Washington), Jim SelfNorm Pearson (BMA University of Southern California), and Sérgio Carolino.

In 2016, Jon founded STUDIO ZAM, a recording, mixing, and production studio in Seattle. 

A Miraphone Performing Artist, Jon proudly plays the Miraphone "Petruschka"  1281 F Tuba.
